THE SPECIFIC PROCEDURE FOR OBTAINING THE DEGREE IN CONSERVATION AND RESTORATION OF CULTURAL ASSETS FOR GRADUATES IN CONSERVATION AND RESTORATION WHO STUDIED UNDER THE PREVIOUS CURRICULUM (11th YEAR, 2024-2025 academic course)
Information Session
The information session will be held digitally on Tuesday, 7th May, at 19.00 (in Catalan) and at 20.00 (in Spanish). In order to attend, you must confirm beforehand by writing an e-mail to: mpujol12@xtec.cat so that an invitation may be sent to you.
Admission requirements
Those students who wish to access this procedure must hold the Degree in the Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Assets, as regulated by Organic Law 1/1990, of 3 October on Education, and they must have studied the same specialist subject in which they wish to obtain a Degree in the Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Assets of the new European Higher Education Area (EEES) qualification.
The 2024-2025 Course Calendar
- The presentation of requests and all required documentation may be sent by e-mail to mpujol12@xtec.cat before 20th May 2024.
- The publication of admission lists: 29 May 2024 (see.pdf).
- The start of procedures to obtain recognition and/or validation: from 29 May to 30 June 2024.
- The communication of provisional results of the recognition/validation study: 1 July 2024.
- Registration: from 1 to 12 July 2024.
- Course begins: 24 September 2024.
- Resolution of the validation requests: second week of October.

- A certified copy of the degree or application receipt document.
Number of places
A maximum nº of 20 places are available for the 2024-2025 course:
- 5 places for the Archaeological Assets Conservation and Restoration Specialist Course.
- 5 places for the Graphic Document Conservation and Restoration Specialist Course
- 5 places for the Sculpture Conservation and Restoration Specialist Course
- 5 places for the Painting Conservation and Restoration Specialist Course
In the event that not all the places in one specialist subject have been assigned, the number of places in another specialist subject may be increased, with up to a maximum of 20 places in total.
Admissions
The adjudications will be made in accordance with the grade scores of the registered applicants. The grades will be taken from the average calculated from the academic record.
Priority will also be given to graduates who have obtained their degree at the ESCRBCC.
The Publication of Admissions Lists
The adjudications will be made public on the ESCRBCC website, on the date established for this process.
Study request for credit recognition and/or validation
Those students admitted students must request the recognition study for the 180 credits of all the basic training subjects and some of the compulsory training subjects, in accordance with the tables in the Verification Document (annex_2.pdf).
After prior consultation with the Head of Studies of the ESCRBCC, they may also request the recognition and/or validation of credits for other official or unofficial studies and for work and/or artistic experience (annex_3.pdf). The request may be made by presenting the relevant form to the Secretary’s Office of the ESCRBCC (annex_4.pdf)
Enrolment
Students will enrol from 1st to 12th July 2024 for all 240 credits (180 credits will be recognised for their previous degree + 60 new credits).
Payment may be made in full (100% from July 1 to 12, 2024), or in instalments (60% from July 1 to 12, 2024 and 40% from January 20 to 31, 2025.

These amounts are indicative, as the number of recognised and/or validated credits may vary depending on each case and the credit amount is based on that of the 2018-2019 school year. However, this is the maximum amount that a student who cannot recognise or validate any of the 60 new credits will have to pay.
Course Monitoring Procedure
Each subject will be evaluated in the same semester as provided for in the calendar of ESCRBCC annual plan. A
Sixty credits must have been accumulated in order to obtain the degree by the end of the course.
Certification of Foreign Language Proficiency
The fifth key skill statement on higher artistic education, specifies that graduates, upon their completion of the Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Assets course, must understand and use at least one foreign language in the field of their professional development [Royal Decree 635/2010, of 14 May (BOE no. 137 – 05.06.2010), which regulates the basic content of the higher artistic education course of the Bachelor’s Degree in the Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Assets].
Requirement for the issuance of the degree: Resolution EDU/3779/2021, of 21 December, amending Section 1 of Resolution ENS/62/2016, of 15 January, on foreign language accreditation for the issuance of certain degrees of higher artistic education (DOGC núm. 8571 – 27.12.2021).
